Ransom WhipperSnapper Oregon Spirit Whiskey is a grain-based American whiskey from Ransom Wine Co. & Spirits in Sheridan, Oregon — distilled in a hand-hammered, direct-fired French alembic pot still by founder Tad Seestedt. Notes of hazelnut and rye loaf with creamy malt aromas, balanced by crystal malt, demerara sugar, and sweet earth on the palate. Finishes with an elegant flourish of viscosity and vibrant rye and malt.

Ransom Spirits was started by Tad Seestedt in 1997, initially producing grappa, eau de vie, and brandy. Grain spirits joined the lineup in 2007. Ransom Farms in the Willamette Valley has been certified organic since 2011, with barley grown on-site since 2008. Distillation is by taste and smell rather than computers, in a traditional alembic French still that retains greater aromatic intensity from the source grains.
