Mars Shinshu Komagatake Limited 2020 is a limited single malt Japanese whisky from Mars Shinshu — Japan’s highest whisky distillery at 2,600+ feet in the Nagano Alps. The Komagatake range is named after the mountain that overlooks the distillery; the Limited 2020 is the standard limited annual release from the main Mars Shinshu distillation and aging program.
The Hombo family obtained their whisky license in 1949 with the help of advisor Kiichiro Iwai, and Mars Shinshu was relocated to the cool, soft-water Nagano Alps in 1984. The Komagatake Limited series represents the annual peak releases from the Mars program — selected casks bottled in limited quantity each year.
