Courvoisier XO Cognac 750 ml
Courvoisier XO is the Maison's finest cognac blend — a richly complex expression of selected eaux-de-vie from the unique terroir of Jarnac, presenting autumnal aromas of crème brûlée, candied orange peel, and iris flower with a long, elegant floral finish that makes it one of the most distinctive XO expressions in the category, best appreciated neat or with a single drop of water to open its subtle aromas.
XO (Extra Old) cognac must contain eaux-de-vie aged at least ten years — but Courvoisier XO draws on considerably older reserves to achieve the depth and integration that the Maison considers appropriate for its top expression. The crème brûlée character comes from the extended Limousin oak interaction with the Fins Bois and Borderies eaux-de-vie that form the core of the Courvoisier blend style — the caramelized oak notes developing over a decade or more of slow extraction. Candied orange peel reflects the oxidative character of long-aged Cognac, where the fresher fruit of the younger expressions transforms into more concentrated, confected citrus. The iris flower note is characteristic of Borderies eaux-de-vie at full maturity — the same floral character that is prominent in the VSOP becomes more ethereal and complex at XO age.
