Jean-Charles Boisset was born into the world of wine in Vougeot, Burgundy, France, growing up above the cellars and within view of Château du Clos Vougeot — the epicenter and birthplace of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. His parents Jean-Claude and Claudine founded the family winery in 1961, and today the Boisset Collection includes wineries with more than 18 centuries of combined winemaking heritage across Burgundy, the South of France, and California (Napa Valley and Russian River Valley), including DeLoach Vineyards (2003), Raymond Vineyards (2009), and Buena Vista Winery (2011 — California’s first premium winery, founded 1857).
