Cazcanes No.9 Rosa Blanco Limited Edition (100 Proof)
Cazcanes No.9 Rosa Blanco Limited Edition is a still-strength blanco tequila bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) — aged for 31 days in first-fill French oak casks previously used for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, in a handmade glass bottle with a rustic twine neck wrap, produced as a limited single-batch release with the golden hue and subtle wine cask complexity that 31 days of first-fill French oak adds to 100% Blue Weber agave tequila.
Cazcanes produces handcrafted tequila with emphasis on terroir and artisanal methods — the No.9 line reflects their exploration of non-standard finishing for blanco expressions. First-fill French oak means the cask has never previously held tequila or whiskey — it held Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon only, so the full residual wine character (dark fruit, tannin, subtle Merlot or Cabernet complexity) transfers to the tequila without any competing spirit influence. 31 days is enough time for the French oak's fine tannin structure and the Cabernet's dried fruit character to integrate with the agave while keeping the spirit within blanco classification (up to 60 days allowed). The result is a 100-proof blanco with more depth and color than standard unaged blancos but without the full wood character of a reposado.
