Banhez Tobala Joven Mezcal Artesanal

Banhez Tobalá Joven is a 100% tobalá agave mezcal artesanal from the Banhez co-operative in Oaxaca — one of the most revered of all agave species due to its scarcity and small size, with a growing period of up to 30 years. Known for intense aromatics and a smooth flavor profile of green mango, leather, and fresh green herbs.

Banhez is produced by Integradora Comercial de Ejutla, a co-operative of 36+ families in San Miguel Ejutla, Oaxaca, committed to sustainable, fair-trade mezcal made as it has been for nearly two centuries — underground wood-fired pits, donkey-pulled stone tahonas, wooden-tank fermentation, and small-batch copper distillation.
