Vicario Nocino (Walnut) Liqueur

Vicario Nocino (Walnut) Liqueur is produced by Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley using green walnuts from their organic farms in Tuscany, Italy and South Carolina, USA — the traditional Italian nocino, made from unripe green walnuts macerated whole (shell, husk, and all) before pressing and bottling. The result is a deep, bittersweet liqueur with the complex spiced character that defines the Italian nocino tradition. Bottled at 38% ABV.

Italian nocino is traditionally made from green walnuts harvested around the feast of San Giovanni (June 24), when the walnuts are still soft enough to slice but already producing the bitter, spiced character that gives nocino its complexity. Vicario’s organic farm sourcing means the walnuts come from the producer’s own land rather than commodity supply. Versatile in cocktail use as an amaro substitute and excellent on its own as a digestif.
