Machetazo Cupreata Joven is the brand’s original and most elaborate mezcal — made from wild cupreata agave grown in the mountains of Mochitlán, Guerrero. The higher elevation is ideal for mineral absorption, giving way to a sweeter flavor unique to the wild cupreata agave.

Mezcal Machetazo follows a traditional production process passed down through generations, with varieties from three Mexican states: Guerrero, Oaxaca, and San Luis Potosí. The name refers to the swing of the machete (“machetazo”) with which the mezcal masters mark the start of the labor-intensive production process.
