Luxardo Apricot Liqueur is one of the few apricot-based liqueurs in the world — from the Luxardo family distillery, an infusion of apricots aged in oak barrels for three months before bottling, first gaining distinction by winning first prize for the most innovative new Italian liqueur in Rome in 1935, proudly labelled ‘Liquore della Lupa’ with the she-wolf of Rome, and certified Kosher.
Luxardo was founded in 1821 in Zara (now Zadar, Croatia) by Girolamo Luxardo and relocated to Torreglia, near Padua in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, in 1943. The distillery is best known for its Maraschino cherry liqueur but the apricot expression shows the same commitment to genuine fruit character and oak integration. The three months of oak ageing integrates the apricot character and softens the natural acidity without masking the fruit.
