Suntory has been experimenting with Japanese wood types for decades as part of its broader Mizunara oak program, and the Blossom Harmony represents the commercial debut of sakura finishing for the Hibiki range. The base blend is the standard Hibiki Harmony multi-distillery, five-cask expression; the sakura finish adds a layer of delicate cherry blossom aroma and a subtle floral sweetness that sits above the Harmony's existing rose, lychee, and Mizunara character without overwhelming it. The 2021 release was produced in limited quantities and is unlikely to return in identical form in subsequent years.
