Glencadam Distillery was established in 1825 in the ancient cathedral city of Brechin, in the Highland region of Angus — the only distillery in the county. Owned by Allied Domecq, who closed it in 2000, it was purchased by Angus Dundee Distillers on 1 June 2003 and restarted immediately. The ‘Re-Awakening’ name refers to that 2003 revival.
