Freeland Spirits Dry Gin

Freeland Spirits Dry Gin is a Portland, Oregon craft gin from one of the very few women-owned and women-run distilleries in history — crafted by hand in small batches and led by juniper with notes of pine forest, mulled spices, green olive, and a hint of citrus.

Freeland Spirits is named after the founder’s Texas grandmother Freeland, who never touched a drop of booze in her life but taught the family that all good things come from scratch — and that women can be anything they want. Master Distiller Molly Troupe brings a background in biochemistry and a Master’s Degree in Distillation from Heriot-Watt in Scotland to the still. The gin is made on a traditional copper pot still that brings juniper and 13 other botanicals to life, while a state-of-the-art vacuum still cajoles quieter flavors including fresh cucumber, rosemary, mint, and thyme. Delicious in cocktails, but the distillery suggests sipping it with just a cube of ice.
