Banfi was founded in 1978 by Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani as a state-of-the-art winery combining advanced viticulture with premium winemaking. The Marianis also purchased Bruzzone, a historic Piedmont winery founded in 1860 and specialized in sparkling wines — now known as Banfi Piemonte — the production base for this Alta Langa expression.
